Isaiah slept a lot today since we didn't have any appointments. I know he must feel better. Later in the day Sean, Isaiah, Sarah, and I went walking around Beirut. Our first real outing on our own. It was a lot of fun. We found a great sushi place that we hope to eat at sometime and Nando's. I'm not sure if anyone reading this has ever had peri-peri but it is a south african sauce that i use in cooking a lot. my friend stacey got me hooked on. she brought me some back from africa and i normally can only order it online. i have found it in a few specialty shops in the states. but here that have a restaurant using every kind of peri-peri possible! I'm gonna have to be careful or i'm gonna gain 20 lbs in the next 10 weeks! Anyway- enough about food...
There are many things that have been surprising here. Today we counted about 14 lingerie shops in a 4 block radius! Lingerie stores and jewelry stores consist of more than half the stores. And things are very expensive. We looked for a pharmacy and asked about diabetes supplies.. they are available but as expensive as in the states. It was so nice to be able to find our way around. we feel so much more comfortable now. we feel like we are beginning to learn to live in beirut rather than just be tourists. however we are just beginning..... SO MUCH TO LEARN!
p.s. isaiah slept from 8pm-8am with no wake ups! woo hoo! plus he had good naps today. he slept more than normal and ate more than normal so i don't know if he is hitting a growth spurt or just catching up. but i am SO THANKFUL that he is sleeping through the night like he did at home! PRAISE THE LORD! thanks for all your prayers! KEEP PRAYING!
