Day 5

I only have a minute to write because we need to get to bed. Isaiah and Sarah (the little girl we are babysitting) will wake up early in the morning. Tonight the brother we are staying with went to Syria... so tomorrow will be our first day on our own. We are looking forward to buying things on our own and trying out Lebanese living as gringos. Today was much more restful... i actually got to take a nap.... only because i have the best husband in the world ... who selflessly let me take one while he watched the kids. i did a really stupid thing today and let sarah play with toys in the shower for 15 minutes not realizing that we have a small tank and that we only get it filled every 2 days. So... we are now out of water for tomorrow. We're learning!

  1. Jessica, I know how you feel. I did the same thing when we were living in Guatemala. And one time I was in the middle of a shower and the pump went out before I got the shampoo rinsed out of my hair. That was fun. Thanks for the post, we need to be reminded how blessed we are in this country to just turn on the water any time and have hot or cold water. Praying for you guys.

  2. thank you chasity! this morning we woke up to no electricity and no water. but it is amazing how you learn to make do. we have a gas stove so i was still able to make breakfast and we have bottled water to drink and brush our teeth. it really isn't that inconvenient. just open the curtains for light and your good to go. thankfully we took showers last night before the water ran out. however.... i did have shampoo in my hair when it started to run out..... so i was rinsing as fast as possible as it dribbled out! :o) love you!
