Day 14

The Lord is so good! Isaiah hasn't had any fever at all today. The medicine that Dr.B told me to get worked wonderfully! He is still kinda snotty but not coughing as much or as congested. With all the slobbering I am really thinking that instead of a cold, it could just be teething. ??? Maybe.??? :o)
We had our second Arabic lesson today. We are blessed to have such a good teacher. She is so patient with us. We found today that because of our schedules we are getting 4 hours of class crammed into 2 hours! My brain hurt today when we were done! We have a week to study and practice.... a bunch! I'm both excited and intimidated. I know I'm gonna look like an idiot! oh well-- i do that enough with english... why not arabic! haha!
Sean went to Tyre to church today and I stayed home with Isaiah. I got some laundry done and got to make some phone calls. Before Sean left I went down to a juice place and that makes fresh squeezed juice... yum! And I went into a children's clothing shop that is just on the opposite corner from the apartment. They had a rack of clothes that was 70% off... so i thought i was safe. I picked up a jumper... cute, not fancy... $45!!! and that is with the 70% off! I can't afford to be a missionary!! haha! just joking! It was surprising though. And this isn't even the wealthy area. Downtown is very chic. It is like walking down rodeo drive- no joke! Everything in Beirut is not that expensive... but it is not a cheap city to live in. So for all you guys who thought we were roughing it in some 3rd world country.... no worries! Not that we are living it up... (we couldn't afford to!) but we have never done without! Even the little quirks and differences aren't as bothersome as one might think. They make this place unique.
Speaking of living it up... I was talking with my aunt terri and i forgot to post something yesterday. It may be minor, but it was a highlight to my day: Sean got me breakfast out.. he brought back a hot, freshly baked, homemade croissant!! YUM! i have never had one homemade and freshly baked! oh my.. it is soooooo much better than a croissant any other way! You can get them with cheese or chocolate.. i got plain because i'm too scared of getting hooked! (As much as I talk about it, I should start a blog just for the food!)
Other than continuing to pray for Isaiah and his health... my main prayer request today is for Walid's mom. She is in her 80's and she doesn't know the Lord. She has been coming around a lot lately. It is difficult because she doesn't know much English so i can't talk with her very much. But i know that Walid is very burdened for her soul. So please pray that she would come to know the Lord. He is mighty save! Yesterday we listened to a message by Randall Easter from a Heartcry Conference a couple years ago. It was on the ability of God! Praise the Lord, He is able! There is nothing that is not within His reach. Even if you have been rejecting the Lord your whole life... He can save you. Cry out to Him for your lost loved ones... Cry out to Him for your own soul.... and know that He is able to save to the uttermost! Praise the Lord... He saved a wretch like me!

  1. Thank you for reminding me that there is NOTHING out of His reach. Love you! I have always wanted a fresh croissant with Nutella.
