Wow! There is so much to tell about the last two days. I will try to keep it as short as possible. Yesterday on our way to church we picked up 5 young Muslim men in their 20's. One of them had been before and this time he brought 4 guys with him. One of them seemed to be very attentive and even asked questions. Please pray for these young men and that the Lord would save them!
In the evening Sean went into one of the Palestinian camps to meet with a family and witness to them. I stayed at the church and had some time in the Word. We spent our first night in the church. It was very peaceful. Tyre is different than Beirut, so we had to relearn how to do the water, electric, and sleeping arrangements. No big deal.. just lessons and sanctification. Another lesson we learned the hard way was that Isaiah needs a mosquito net over his pack-n-play when we stay at the church. He woke up this morning with 59 mosquito bites! :o( He looked like he had the chicken pocks! One good thing is that the mosquitoes here are different from in the states.. the bites aren't as big and they go away quickly. They also don't itch like crazy... so other than just looking pitiful- Isaiah is fine. He could care less!
This morning we left to go south to visit a missionary there. Said (the guy we were with) decided to take the scenic route through the mountains so that we could enjoy the scenery. It was beautiful. I have lots of pics. I will post most of them on facebook because he takes forever to post pictures here... but i will post a few.
We got to see the cedars of Lebanon and we saw the most beautiful mountain views. However the scenic route meant 4 and half hours there. We got there and could not get permission to cross the borders into the south... so we grabbed a bite to eat and got back in the car and drove home.... That's missionary life for you! We are learning to be flexible. We were in the car a total of 9 hours! SANCTIFICATION!! You know what is so wonderful is that normally I would have been disgruntled and complaining. But the Lord gave me grace. It truly is sanctification.. because I can see the Lord working in me through these very minor trials... (I don't even think you can call them trials to be honest... just learning experiences). The only thing I complained about was Said's driving :o) oh my!!! Rididng with him is an act of faith!!! Amazingly, Isaiah did so well. He fussed for about 20 minutes one time and maybe 15 another time. But he slept and played and was fine most of the time.
It rained here today for the first time since we've been here.. we are hoping it will help cool things down. But if it continues it will make it difficult as we walk just about everywhere with Isaiah. I feel like I am forgetting so much, but I want to get straight to the prayer requests!
1. Praise the Lord for His goodness and mercy toward us.
2. Please pray for the 5 young men that came to church Sunday. Pray that the
Lord would work in their hearts and grant them salvation.
3. There is a couple that live next to us. They are both Muslim and they are
having major marital problems. The wife wants a divorce. Walid
the man today and told him that he must first know Christ. Later in the
evening the wife came and asked for counsel. She will come tomorrow for
me to give her counsel. PLEASE CRY OUT TO THE LORD ON MY BEHALF AS I
COUNSEL HER.. AND CRY OUT TO THE LORD ON HER BEHALF THAT SHE MIGHT BE
SAVED! Please pray that the Holy Spirit would lead the conversation
and give me wisdom that I don't have. Please pray!pray!pray! I feel so
inadequate. Only the Lord can help her! Praise the Lord, because He is
the only help I can lead her to.
4. Sean and I both have sore throats. Please pray for good health and that
we would make wise decisions regarding our health and Isaiah's.
5. Walid is preparing for his sermons for his trip to Ireland and England.
Pray that the Lord would grant him grace in his preparation.
6. Last please pray for Sean as he tries to discern what the Lord's will is
for us here.
Thank you for praying! Pray without ceasing!

I haven't yet read all of the updates but I want you to know that I'm praying for you! Love you.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is all awesome!! YOu probably already know this but gargling with salt water helps sore throats. Gargle every hour if needed. Get the water as hot as you can stand but not too hot. I burned myself once. wish I could hug you and pray for you, but I will pray for you from Alabama.
