Day 23

Today was a kind of a difficult day. It seemed as though there was a cloud over us all day. We woke this morning and went to immigrations to extend our visas. When we arrived we found out that the ones we had didn't actually expire until Dec.8. Which is good, but kinda crazy... because we leave out on the 15th of Dec. So we will have to get them renewed for one week! That's ok though. It made our job today much easier. I have been very hoarse all day and don't have much of a voice. Sean had the same thing a couple of days ago. The weather is changing and it has started to rain for the past couple of days... so I think it is just the weather. Isaiah seems to be feeling fine. He is such a sweet boy! Ebini Helo!
We lost electricity from 3pm-6pm today, which normally isn't a big deal but it is getting dark earlier and time went back an hour. So it was dark at like 4:30 or 5. Normally it doesn't really matter when electricity goes out because it is sunny outside. Also- the day seemed to go by so quickly without getting anything of significance accomplished. I don't know if it is just the rain and dark or if we are in a spiritual battle, but there just seemed to be a gray cloud. So while the power was out we decided to take the opportunity to pray. We felt so much better after praying. I fixed dinner in the dark and by the time the power came back on, we were ready to eat! Then I read the Reece's blog (our friends that our missionaries in the bush of Zambia) and realized that my making dinner in the dark was no sacrifice or trial at all. I am thankful that the Lord is faithful to humble me.
Tomorrow if it does not rain, I am going to go to the market to buy some ingredients to make cookies for the neighbor and a few other people. I wanted to go today, but that specific market is too far to walk in the rain... especially with an already sore throat! (Although I did walk in the rain to get a chocolate croissant.) If anyone has a really easy, really good recipe for cookies, chocolate chip or any other... i would appreciate it! I know Jen makes great cookies and Elzleen makes the best cake I've ever had! i'm just not sure what ingredients i can find!
As you pray- pray that the Lord would protect us from any arrows that would purpose to hinder our work and pray that we would live not by our flesh but by His Spirit!
