Today again was very encouraging and tiring.Isaiah was so much better today, he was in a good mood all day! We had Arabic lessons today. I am loving them! I just want to learn faster. Today our neighbor (the wife) came to see me again. She brought me a gift of honey. She wanted me to come to her house, but we had lessons and then we had to go to Tyre to church. It is so frustrating because I want to be able to talk with her so bad. Lodi (our Arabic teacher) is going to plan on staying an extra hour next week so that the three of us can sit and Lodi can translate. Lodi also suggested that I use the Bible to converse with the neighbor. I have given her a Bible in Arabic, so I can give her a specific passage to read. This idea was such a blessing! Then I don't have to worry about my words being right... it will be His Words... plus, it will get her reading the Bible. Also the other lady I met on our steps yesterday came by and introduced her daughter to me. The mother is supposed to come for coffee tomorrow.
PLEASE PRAY! I need prayer more than anything else in this world! Pray that the Lord would give us the ability to learn a hard language quickly, that our minds would be clear and attentive. Pray that we would retain what we learn. Pray that the Holy Spirit would go before us and lead us in our words and actions as we meet people and build relationships with them. Again please continue to pray that the Lord would direct Sean in His will for us here. Also continue to pray for my friend Hanan. She works so hard teaching at a school 5 days a week, plus children's ministry 3 days a week (with only her children to help), plus raising 5 children, cooking, cleaning, etc. And... she has fibromyalsia. Pray that the Lord would give her comfort, rest, peace, and strength in Him. Thank you for all who are lifting us up in prayer and interceding for us. Truly interceding for another is the greatest gift a person can give.
