The family is Tyre is such a wonderful family. The children loved playing with Isaiah today... and he loved them as well. Isaiah and I stayed at the church in Tyre while Sean went out with 3 other men to evangelize in a Hezballah neighborhood. They gave out Bibles and Sean was invited into a home for coffee where he was able to share with them. Please pray that the Lord will be pleased with our obedience and that He would open the hearts of those we meet. Also pray that Isaiah would be able to sleep according to this time zone. And pray that the Lord would give us wisdom in how to help him. He is still wanting to go to sleep at 8pm our time which is 3 am here. Which means that we don't get to go to sleep until 3am. So we are obviously very tired because we haven't been able to sleep much. Isaiah can nap during the day, but we can't. The Lord has poured forth His grace upon us. We are so thankful for the people we have met here. Tomorrow we will be able to rest some. In the afternoon we are to have lunch with a family and then we will go to the market to buy groceries. Thank you for your prayers.... keep praying! love - jessica

Day 2
We saw much of Lebanon today. It was somewhat a long day. It was our first time to travel to Tyre which is normally an hour and a half drive. This morning it took us 3 hours to get there and this evening it took us 2 hours to get home. I could never drive here! The driving reminds me of when I was in Peru! But the brother we are staying with is a very good driver.... although it is crazy! The ride was very tiring. The grace the Lord has given us in Isaiah amazes me and reminds me that we are in His will. Even in the long travels and bumpy roads Isaiah is still smiling. What a blessing the Lord has given us in our son!

I can't wait to read what you think of the grocery. I bet there are some awesome options there. Isaiah will catch on with the time change, but it may take a while. Be patient girl, Isaiah is so blessed to have you as his mama. Love you!
ReplyDeleteHey youngins, Dad here. I thank God for this blog. Isn't modern technology wonderful. I print your daily adventures and share them with Vikki & Barb. They both send their love. I'm teaching Barb to access your blog, so if that goes well you may get get a comment from her. Sounds like you hit the ground running. Vikki's asking if Sean ever got his birthday card. Now for the 'Dad' stuff. Have you found the doctors you'll need for Isaiah? Please find the American Embassy. You don't have to go there, just know where it is and how to get there. Sorry, but I'll feel better :) I agree with Jen, that much jet lag will take a while for Isaiah to acclimate. If you can put up with his fussiness, try keeping him awake a few minutes longer each day. Love the 3 of you. Just Dad.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning to Jessica, Sean & Isaiah, wonderful you can send us news of your travels and adventures in this new and exciting experience. You have been led by the Lord to travel to a 'foreign place' which as you stay there will become more familiar and less exotic. It's good you two have each other and that the two of you have Isaiah. As we don't know how long you'll be there, you cannot be sure how much Isaiah will remember of all this since he is so young; but the two of you are making life memories! Do you have a camera with you? If so, hopefully you'll be able to take some photos. For me personally, I would be very interested in the architecture of the buildings you see as you move about the city. Will you have postal service of any kind? Just wondering about this...if you do, please put the address in your blog. I remember last Christmas sending cards and boxes to military overseas; we had a work project because one of the staff had a sister in the Army and we collected up gifts and cards to send to the sister to share with those under her command. What language do the Lebanese speak? Is it simply called Lebanese? Is it easy to learn? I've always thought traveling was educational in a way just reading about the country in a book cannot possibly match! May God watch over you (and us) while we are absent from one another... Love to all three, Barbara
